Importing text fragments from a Word document

You can import ‘text fragments’ straight from paragraphs in a Word (.docx) document.

Within these paragraphs, the Studio can recognize ‘fields’ if they appear between square brackets: [word here] — a common way to mark up variable content:

In the Studio, choose Resources > Word import, select your Word document and press [OK].

Turn paragraphs into text fragments and questions

All paragraphs of the original Word document will be imported and scanned for variable fields. The subsequent dialog lets you change the name and content of the text fragments and even create questions for the variable fields:

Final step: drag the new items to the model

Having defined and refined your new text fragments and questions, you can ‘drag-and-drop’ the text fragments to the appropriate spots in your model.

A text fragment is dragged with the text fragment icon (text fragment icon) on the right of the Text fragment identifier onto the Actions panel.

A question is dragged with the icon on the right of the Question. After this is done, your new text fragments and questions appear in the Actions list:
