Custom Views

In many of the tools it can be desirable to save the state you currently have. For example, in the Periodic Report tool, you may have added many columns and be viewing the data in the ‘Passed 12 months’. You may want to see this updated report every month, but wouldn’t want to add those columns each time. For this reason, you are able to create custom views to save the state of a tool and return later to that view.

By clicking on “Save” at the top of the tool window, you prompt a dialogue asking for a name. You can provide any name you like, and then click save.

You will then see your tool show up in a new section in the tool belt above called, “Custom Views”. Every time you open the dashboard from now on, you will find it there.

When you save the custom view, and indeed anytime thereafter, you will also have the option to “Make this my default view” - selecting this option will make the view automatically open as soon as you click into that model in the future. The view will also be a separate tool in the tool belt.

Import / Export

In the options of a saved view, there is also an Export link at the bottom. This link will download a file which holds the state of the tool, and can be imported anywhere else.

To import a view, you can click on the + at the bottom of the Custom Views list in the tool belt.

Pro Tip

Exported views are not model specific. In other words, if you have a view in one model that would work equally well for another, you can export --> import it to the other model.

Viewer Admin

If you are logged in as a ‘VIEWERADMIN’ role, you will also have the option to ‘Share this view with my team’ - when you select that option, all other users who have access to that model will automatically be given that view in their custom views section. If you also set that view to ‘default’, it will be forced as the default view for other users.
